Songwriting in Senegal

It’s about 5 p.m. in Yoff-Dakar, Senegal. The weather's hot and humid and the goats are bleating their hearts out. Perfect inspiration for writing music. After nearly a year, I’ve finished “In Your Arms, From Your Kiss, With Your Touch” and sent it off to Andrés to use his magic on creating a perfect accompaniment to it. He’s a genius at this...very intuitive..

By the way, I am in Senegal supporting a project that aims to provide education, employment generation, and civic participation opportunities to girls and young women who have been separated from their families in rural Senegal to work as domestic employees in Dakar. This is a very needed project that these girls are asking for themselves. We are working on designing it well and then finding funding to sustain it. Contact me if you want more information or would like to help. :-)
